It has become such a pleasure to me sharing stories about facts and little secrets in making bags a lot of people might not know. As I've started my journey years ago learning about leather craftsmanship, I soon noticed the no. 1 technique in Holland to sew leather at this moment is to use an industrial heavyweight sewing machine. Many of you might already know, I'm always very careful following the masses, instead I'm very passionate in my search for authentic paths, that's where you'll find the real gems. What does luxury really mean to you? To me it's authenticity, combined with quality, delicacy and durability. On my journey I've learned the differences between hand stitches and machine stitches, quality-wise. Let me share this valuable knowledge with you.

When a 'machine stitch' breaks, the upper thread and lower thread will both unravel and it loosens up both leather sides. Machine stitches are less time consuming in terms of production, and at the same time less durable in terms of quality.

A hand stitch, when done right, is a very high quality stitch. When the 'hand stitch/ saddle stitch' breaks at one point, the rest of the stitch remains intact. It makes it easier to repair.
This stitch is used only by very few brands throughout the world, because of it's time consuming aspect.
Our exclusive handbags are passionately stitched by hand by us, as we want to design and fabricate durable longlasting bags. At our atelier, handstitches are used for sides that carry the heavy weight. It takes a little more , but it's made with the utmost love, care and passion.
Love,
Safiera ♡
